Job summary

Matician is hiring a Reliability Design Engineer to build and run electromechanical test rigs and accelerated life tests for home-robotics hardware. You will wire actuators, sensors, and motor drivers, create data-driven failure analyses, and automate test runs to ensure robust, scalable products before they ship.

This hands-on role involves CAD modeling, fixture design, and close collaboration with mechanical, electrical, software, quality, production, and supply chain teams.

Qualifications

• Technical degree in mechanical/electrical/mechatronics or related hardware discipline.
• 2+ years hardware design engineering experience on shipped physical product.
• Proven ability to build, fabricate, and rapidly iterate physical prototypes and test setups.

Responsibilities

• Design, fabricate, and iterate electromechanical test rigs, fixtures, and automated setups that reproduce field failure modes.
• Build accelerated life, fatigue, vibration and shock, and environmental tests across motors, mechanisms, and electronics.
• Wire up actuators, motor drivers, sensors, and data acquisition that bring test setups to life and collect failure data.
• Write scripts to automate test execution and data logging for reliable, repeatable tests.
