Job summary

Figure is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, test, and implement hardware components for our humanoid platform. You will create parts in 3D CAD, prototype for range of motion, and generate precision drawings with GD&T per ASME Y14.5.

Responsibilities include supplier engagement, test stands, and sustaining part development on robot platforms. Strong actuators knowledge and CATIA V6 are highly valued assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical, Biomechanical, Robotics, Mechatronics, or similar field.
• Actuators experience: strain-wave, planetary, cycloidal.
• Electromechanical integration: sensors, motors, drivers, wire harnesses, buses.
• Expert in using 3D CAD to design parts with complex geometry.
• Ability to write and maintain clean design documentation.
• Experience designing/building prototypes.
• Experience with simulation/analysis methods (FEA, MATLAB).
• Experience with high volume manufacturing processes.
• CATIA V6 experience.

Responsibilities

• Design parts in 3D CAD that satisfy load conditions, form factor, and durability.
• Build prototypes to test assembly, range of motion, and wire routing.
• Generate accurate 2D drawings using GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Inspect first articles, build test stands, and support robot development platforms.
• Collaborate with GSM team to select suppliers and order parts.
