Job summary

Mind Robotics is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead end-to-end design and development of electromechanical hardware and robotic systems. You will rapidly build, test, and iterate prototypes using 3D printing, CNC machining, and hands-on fabrication.

You will apply strong mechanical intuition to perform tolerance, structural, and thermal analyses and ensure designs scale for production through DFM/DFA practices, collaborating with software, electrical, and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building complex electromechanical systems and sensors.
• Proficient in 3D printing, CNC machining, and rapid prototyping.
• Experience designing for high-volume production and working with contract manufacturers.
• Strong mechanical intuition and ability to perform tolerance, structural, and thermal analyses.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of mechanical components and assemblies for data collection hardware and robotic devices.
• Rapidly build, test, and break prototypes using 3D printing, CNC machining, and manual fabrication.
• Contribute to DFM/DFA efforts to scale designs from prototypes to production.
• Source components and coordinate with machine shops and contract manufacturers to ensure parts meet specs and ship on time.
• Perform basic analyses (tolerance, structural, thermal) to validate design decisions.
• Develop specifications and accelerated test plans to validate the product for its lifetime.
• Assist in documentation for design reviews and testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to consolidate design requirements and integrate mechanical systems.
