Job summary

Humanoid is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to shape the Core Platform for our humanoid robots. You will develop high-performance mechanical systems, create detailed CAD models, and validate designs through testing and analysis.

The role requires collaboration across disciplines, vendor coordination, and a focus on manufacturability and safety. You will work on open-ended design problems, deliver robust solutions for real-world robotic applications, and influence product direction

Qualifications

• BSME with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience designing high-performance mechanical structures, motion mechanisms, and integrated systems in robotics or high-precision fields.
• Advanced proficiency in CAD software (NX, SolidWorks, Creo) with FEA and topology optimization; Siemens NX used.

Responsibilities

• Interpret design requirements and translate into detailed specifications for new systems and components.
• Collaborate with engineers across disciplines to design and prototype robotics solutions.
• Design and refine mechanisms and structures to improve robot performance, including energy-absorbing and ergonomic coverings.
• Create and manage CAD models, drawings, assembly docs, and test plans.
• Perform analyses and bench tests to validate designs against performance, safety, and manufacturability standards.
• Troubleshoot design issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with external vendors for components and assemblies and ensure third-party designs meet requirements.
• Adapt to changing project needs with a collaborative, team-first mindset.
