Job summary

Ultra’s Brooklyn-based Manufacturing team is seeking an assembler to help scale from prototypes to production of AI-native industrial robots. You will own the complete manufacturing process for our robot fleet, working with engineering and production to establish quality standards as we grow from dozens to thousands of deployed systems.

You will build robot systems, fabricate wiring harnesses, perform testing, and document issues.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of hands-on assembly experience in electromechanical systems (automotive, industrial equipment, robotics, or similar).
  • Demonstrated proficiency with soldering and cable fabrication.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control mindset—you take pride in work that's built to last.
  • Comfortable with hand tools, power tools, and assembly fixtures.
  • Manual dexterity for both precision work and general assembly.
  • Ability to regularly lift 50+ pounds.
  • Basic computer skills (email, documentation, internet).

Responsibilities

  • Build complete robot systems from fabricated parts, PCBs, motors, sensors, and compute modules.
  • Fabricate and integrate custom wiring harnesses, including soldering, crimping, and professional cable management.
  • Ensure assembly quality standards: proper strain relief, correct torque specifications, clean wire routing, and reliable connections.
  • Perform functional testing and verification of assembled systems before deployment.
  • Document assembly issues and recommend process improvements as we iterate on designs.
  • Support occasional deployment, troubleshooting, and field service as needed.
