Job summary

1X is building humanoid robots and seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to scale production for NEO hardware. You will own machining, assembly, fixture design, inspection, and validation, guiding products from prototype through production with an emphasis on quality, throughput, and repeatability.

The role requires strong DFM, CAM programming, GD&T, and hands‑on collaboration with design, quality, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure readiness for NPIs and ramping into full manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience for precision mechanical or electromechanical products.
• Experience with CAM programming, fixture design, tooling development, and precision machining processes.
• Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and production process development.
• Experience integrating electromechanical assemblies into production environments.

Responsibilities

• Own manufacturing processes for critical robotic components and assemblies from prototype to production.
• Develop robust machining, assembly, inspection, and validation processes to improve quality, throughput, and repeatability.
• Design and deploy fixtures, tooling, CAM programs, inspection methods, and automation solutions.
• Support NPI programs from prototype builds through production ramp while maintaining readiness.
• Establish and maintain process controls, quality metrics, and documentation.
