Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking an Industrial Mechanical Technician to operate, maintain and improve system-controlled robotics, machine tools and equipment in our Schenectady, NY facility.

The role focuses on evaluating equipment condition, planning repairs, and performing preventive maintenance across spindles, pumps, motors and guarding—ensuring safe, reliable production. Shift work includes 2nd or 3rd shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent military training in mechanical discipline.
• Hands-on experience in industrial maintenance and repair.
• Familiarity with mechanical, hydraulic systems and safety procedures (LOTO).

Responsibilities

• Identify equipment condition and plan repairs or rebuilds.
• Own preventive maintenance and diagnose issues; order parts.
• Maintain and modify machine tools, conveyors, and process equipment.
• Apply knowledge of mechanical components and measurement devices in industrial settings.
