Job summary

AstraZeneca in New Haven, CT is seeking a Mechatronics Engineer focused on Robotics Integration & Delivery to assemble, wire, bring up, and validate robotic systems for safe and reusable workflows within the Product Development & Clinical Supply organization.

You will integrate hardware with PLC control, sensors, and vision systems; perform system bring-up, debugging, and documentation; and collaborate to hand off completed systems to operators.

Qualifications

• MS or BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field, with hands-on automation experience.
• 2+ years integrating lab or industrial automation hardware (robots, conveyors, fixtures, sensors, controllers).
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, I/O lists, BOMs, and test docs.
• Strong collaboration across engineering, delivery, and operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Integrate robotic and lab-automation hardware (robot arms, conveyors, sensors, safety devices).
• Build and troubleshoot electrical and control-system interfaces (PLC, I/O, relays).
• System bring-up with power, I/O, calibration, and readiness assessments.
• Collaborate to transition integrated systems into reliable workflows.
• Verify instrument connectivity (I/O, interfaces, vision, RFID).
• Troubleshoot issues across mechanical, electrical, controls, and software boundaries.
• Create and maintain delivery docs and handoff materials.
• Support operator enablement and early-life support after deployment.
