Maxwell Bond in Los Angeles is seeking a hands-on robotics hardware engineer to help design, assemble and integrate robotic systems from prototype to deployment. You will work across electrical, mechanical and embedded domains to bring complex machines to life.
The role emphasizes practical problem solving, prototyping, testing and collaboration with external suppliers. You should have a degree in EE/ME/Robotics/CS and strong experience with PCB development, 3D CAD, ROS 2 and Linux-based
Join a hands-on engineering team developing advanced robotic systems designed for real-world applications. You'll help turn new concepts into working hardware, contributing to the design, integration and deployment of next-generation robotics technology. This is an opportunity to solve complex engineering challenges and see your work move from prototype to practical application.
Direct impact on product development and real-world performance.
End-to-end involvement across design, prototyping, integration, testing and deployment.
Technical variety spanning electronics, mechanical systems, embedded hardware and robotics.
The opportunity to build, test and refine innovative hardware in a fast-moving engineering environment.
You'll take a practical, multidisciplinary approach to developing robotic hardware, helping design, assemble and integrate the systems that bring complex machines to life. Responsibilities will include:
Designing and integrating electrical and mechanical subsystems, including custom circuit boards and hardware interfaces.
Developing and refining robotic hardware configurations for different operational requirements.
Building prototypes, carrying out hands‑on testing and troubleshooting issues across mechanical, electrical and embedded systems.
Supporting the integration and deployment of robotic platforms, improving reliability and performance through iterative development.
Working with hardware components, external suppliers and technical documentation to support product development and ongoing improvements.
A degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science or a related technical discipline, alongside practical experience with robotics or electromechanical systems.
Strong hands‑on engineering skills across electrical and mechanical hardware, including PCB development, 3D CAD, ECAD tools, hardware assembly and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with Linux-based systems and robotics environments, ideally ROS 2, alongside embedded systems and computer hardware interfaces such as USB, PCIe and CAN bus.
Experience with electronics testing equipment, robotic actuators, battery systems and engineering documentation. Knowledge of GD&T, reliability standards, environmental protection requirements and component sourcing is beneficial.
