Job summary

Formic is hiring a Robotics Field Service Technician to support our Fleet Operations team. You will perform preventive maintenance, carry out repairs, and represent Formic directly at customer facilities.

This hands-on role requires disciplined execution of procedures, calmness during production interruptions, and clear documentation. Travel up to 80% locally and up to 50% overnight is expected depending on assignments.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on field service or maintenance experience with robotic or industrial automation.
• Strong troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical, PLC, or robotic control systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and pneumatic drawings.
• Experience using CMMS platforms to track maintenance activity.
• Willingness to travel up to 80% locally and up to 50% overnight.

Responsibilities

• Execute scheduled preventive maintenance on robotic manufacturing cells following established checklists and procedures.
• Perform directed corrective maintenance and repairs as assigned by engineering, dispatch, or senior technicians.
• Respond to on-site service calls, follow structured troubleshooting steps, and elevate complex or unresolved issues to engineering.
• Provide hands-on technical support to customer operators and maintenance teams.
• Log service activity, asset updates, and spare part requirements in CMMS systems.
• Follow assigned field schedules and coordinate day-to-day logistics with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor system performance using dashboards and fleet tools, and report anomalies to engineering.
• Document service work and follow-up actions with clarity and precision.
