Job summary

Formic is seeking a Robotics Field Service Engineer to own the frontline technical work on deployed robotic cells across customer sites in the United States. You will diagnose failures, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, and restore production while representing Formic at customer facilities.

This hands-on role requires strong troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical, PLC, and robotic control systems, with up to 80% local travel and up to 50% overnight travel.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on field service experience with robotic or industrial automation systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and pneumatic drawings.
• Experience using CMMS to log maintenance and service activities.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on robotic manufacturing cells.
• Respond to remote and on-site escalations and restore systems quickly.
• Provide hands-on technical support to customer operators and maintenance teams.
• Log service activity and spare parts in CMMS systems.
• Coordinate field scheduling with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
• Document service work and root cause analysis with clear records.
