Job summary

Tutor Intelligence, Inc. is seeking a technically strong and deeply curious Customer Engineer to own how our robotic systems behave in the real world.

This role sits at the boundary between product and reality, turning messy system behavior into clear understanding and meaningful improvement, while partnering with customers, Customer Success, and our R&D team. You’ll investigate complex issues, identify root causes, drive fixes that scale across the fleet, and contribute tools and playbooks that

Qualifications

• 2–5 years in robotics, automation, or complex hardware‑software systems.
• Hands‑on experience with real‑world robotic or automation systems.
• Strong systems thinking across software, hardware and real‑world environments.
• Experience debugging ambiguous real‑world issues using logs and telemetry.
• Ability to operate end‑to‑end from investigation to resolution.
• Excellent communication to engineers and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Willingness to work directly with customers in production environments.

Responsibilities

• Own real‑world system behavior across environments and product types.
• Lead complex investigations using logs, telemetry, and on‑site context.
• Drive root cause and fleet‑level fixes beyond individual issues.
• Identify patterns and translate them into product changes or config updates.
• Collaborate with R&D to test hypotheses and validate fixes in production.
• Engage with customers in high‑impact situations with clear communication.
• Develop tools and playbooks to improve diagnostics and resolution.
