Job summary

ReconRobotics, Inc. in Edina, MN is seeking a full-time Electronics Technician to move robotic hardware from prototype to low-volume production.

This hands-on role focuses on board-level debugging, soldering, and testing of micro‑robot electronics, with close collaboration across engineering and production to ensure reliable hardware. You will work with bench instruments, read schematics, develop test procedures, and help drive improvements in assembly methods and fixture design.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on electronics assembly, repair, test or related role.
• Proficiency read schematics and PCB layouts.
• Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, or digitally controlled electronics.
• Hands-on troubleshooting to diagnose, isolate, and resolve issues.
• Familiarity with bench instrumentation and methodical failure analysis.
• Experience with Linux and Python for test automation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Precise soldering and rework of fine-pitch components to prototype and low-volume builds.
• Debug embedded electronics at the board level using scopes, analyzers, meters, and power supplies.
• Assemble and test small robotic systems in R&D and production; help improve processes as volumes grow.
• Create and maintain clear work instructions, test procedures, and build notes.
• Collaborate with engineering to identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Recommend design/assembly/test method improvements based on recurring issues.
• Follow established quality, safety, and ESD standards.
