OpenAI is seeking a Senior Manager, EHS - Robotics to provide senior, hands-on safety leadership across multiple sites. This role operates in a fast-moving technical environment, anticipating risk and building practical safety systems that scale with growth.

The role partners with Robotics, Engineering, Operations, Facilities, and Legal to embed safety into design, deployment, and operations, including 24/7 coverage, incident management, and regulatory readiness for Cal/OSHA and OSHA

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive EHS experience in robotics, advanced manufacturing, or similarly complex environments.
• Strong knowledge of machine safety, ergonomics, electrical safety, hazardous materials, and incident investigation.
• Experience building scalable EHS programs and leading cross-functional risk management.

Responsibilities

• Define site-level EHS strategy for the robotics portfolio across multiple sites.
• Lead proactive risk identification and control for robotics activities, including 24/7 operations.
• Oversee incident response, investigations, and root-cause analysis with corrective actions.
