Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject and level assigned.
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.
• At least one year of student teaching or approved internship.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum requirements.
• Prepare lessons reflecting accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
• Present subject matter according to TEA guidelines and policies.
• Plan and use instructional strategies, materials, and equipment for diverse learners.
• Assess student learning and use results to inform instruction.
• Work with special education staff to modify curricula per IEPs.
• Collaborate with staff to set goals, objectives, and methods.
• Supervise teacher aides and volunteers.
• Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
• Establish and maintain open communication with parents, students, principals, and teachers.
• Attend faculty meetings and participate in professional development.
