Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, IA seeks an OR Registered Nurse to circulate and scrub for a variety of surgical cases, including robotics and cardiac/neuro procedures. You will assess patients pre-, intra-, and post-operatively and collaborate with surgeons and anesthesia providers to ensure excellent outcomes.

Ownership of patient education, accurate documentation, and cross-training to support other units are key aspects.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN program completion.
• Current Iowa RN licensure (or compact licensure) required.

Responsibilities

• Circulate and scrub for a wide variety of surgical cases.
• Participate in high-acuity specialties including cardiac, neuro, and robotic procedures.
• Grow robotics skills with leading surgical technology.
• Assess patient needs pre-, intra-, and post-operatively, and respond to changes.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to support optimal patient outcomes.
• Document care and patient responses accurately and timely.
• Educate patients and families on procedure expectations and post-op care.
• Support and delegate tasks to LPNs and Nursing Assistants as needed.
• Participate in ongoing education, team meetings, and quality initiatives.
• Float to other units or adjust shifts to support patient care.
