Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, Iowa, is seeking a part-time OR Registered Nurse to join our surgical team. The role involves circulating and scrubbing, supporting high-acuity cases, and providing compassionate care for operative patients.

You will work with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the team to ensure safe, efficient experiences and positive outcomes, with opportunities to grow robotics skills and participate in ongoing education.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or completion of RN program.
• Current RN licensure in Iowa or an approved multi-state license.

Responsibilities

• Circulate and scrub for a wide variety of surgical cases with full training provided.
• Participate in high-acuity specialties including cardiac, neuro, and robotic-assisted procedures.
• Grow robotics skills and gain hands-on experience with leading surgical technology.
• Assess patient needs pre-, intra-, and post-operatively and respond to changes in condition.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to anticipate needs and support optimal outcomes.
• Document care and patient responses accurately and timely.
• Educate patients and families on procedure expectations and post-op care.
• Support and delegate tasks to LPNs and Nursing Assistants as needed.
• Participate in ongoing education, team meetings, and quality initiatives.
• Float to other units or adjust shifts to support patient care.

Education
