Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, IA, is seeking an OR Registered Nurse for the day shift to support a busy surgical team. You will circulate and scrub across diverse specialties, grow robotics skills, and educate patients on perioperative care while maintaining compassionate, high‑quality care.

Full training provided, with a 36‑hour work week and day shift schedule. A sign-on bonus starting at $10,000 is offered based on experience.

Qualifications

Associate degree in nursing or RN program completion.
Active Iowa RN license or multi-state licensure.
Willingness to rotate to different units as needed.

Responsibilities

Circulate and scrub for a wide variety of surgical cases with full training provided.
Participate in high-acuity specialties including cardiac, neuro, and robotic-assisted procedures.
Grow your skills in robotics and gain hands-on experience with surgical technology.
Assess patient needs pre-, intra-, and post-operatively, responding quickly to changes in condition.
Collaborate with the surgical team to anticipate needs and support optimal patient outcomes.
Document care and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner.
Educate patients and families on procedure expectations and post‑op care.
Support, guide, and delegate tasks to LPNs and Nursing Assistants as needed.
Participate in ongoing education, team meetings, and quality initiatives.
Float to other units or adjust shifts as needed to support patient care.
