Job summary

Applied Intuition, Inc. is seeking a Robotic Software Engineer to design and integrate autonomy systems across hardware and software for defense and commercial UAV applications.

You will deploy algorithms in SIL, HIL, and live flight tests, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions. The role requires hands-on robotics experience, C++ proficiency, and DoD-friendly clearance readiness.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Robotics, Computer Science or related engineering field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with robotic systems (hardware, software, integration).
  • Experience with C++ programming.
  • Experience integrating autonomy/robotics products with Pixhawk autopilots (ArduPilot and/or PX4).
  • Experience with communication buses/protocols: UART/RS232/RS422/RS485, SPI/QSPI, I2C, Ethernet.
  • Experience developing in Docker and containerized deployments; Linux expertise (RHEL, Ubuntu).
  • Experience using Git, VS Code, GitLab.
  • Familiarity with SIL/HIL, real-time, safety-critical systems; travel 10–20%.

Responsibilities

  • Design and integrate autonomy and vehicle intelligence systems spanning hardware and software.
  • Deploy autonomy algorithms in SIL, HIL, and live test environments.
  • Troubleshoot complex integration and software issues for reliability.
  • Integrate autonomy software with hardware to support autopilots, sensors, and data links.
  • Support live flight tests of autonomy software on UAVs.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors on integration with OEM hardware.
  • Conduct system-level setup, testing, and validation (SIL/HIL).
  • Collaborate on service-oriented architectures and inter-process messaging for autonomous UAS.
