Job summary

ADP, Inc. in Pontiac, MI seeks an Automation/Automaton Technician to join a cross-functional manufacturing team. This on-site role focuses on setting up ABB robotic trim cells for new projects, improving existing cells, and developing procedural documentation.

You will design and build robot cell fixturing and EOAT, program PLCs and robots, and ensure smooth integration with rotary thermoforming equipment. Strong teamwork, problem-solving, and communication are essential, with 60k-80k salary

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor of Science in related field, or equivalent years of work experience.
• Able to work independently on projects and as a member of a team.
• Great motivational and people skills.
• Must be self-motivated.
• Must be willing to learn new things.
• Ability to think outside the box.
• Ability to read and understand Electrical and Pneumatic prints.
• Exposure to ABB industrial robots, Rockwell/AB controls, HMI's sensors, and vision systems.
• Troubleshooting experience with PLC programs.
• Proficient with Robotic Path Teaching.
• Extensive experience with Robot Studio and SolidWorks greatly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Write and modify robot programs
• Design and build robot cell fixturing
• Design and build EOAT
• Simulate robot systems
• Develop technical documentationMake necessary changes to achieve cycle time
• Document all changes to robot programs, fixtures and EOATs
• Program PLC's, robots, motion systems, and vision systems
• Set up communication with the PLC and peripheral equipment
• Robot I/O Configuration
• Other duties as assigned
