Job summary

Peninsula Plastics Company Inc in Pontiac, MI is hiring an Automaton Technician to support ABB robotic trim cells for new projects and to improve existing lines. This on-site role runs during production hours and requires developing procedural documentation and designing fixtures and tooling in coordination with rotary Thermoforming equipment.

You will write and modify robot programs, design fixturing and EOAT, simulate systems, troubleshoot PLCs and vision gear, and document all changes.

$60,000.00 To $80,000.00 Annually

Description

The Automaton Technician will work as part of a cross functional team along side manufacturing to ensure that our ABB robotic trim cells are set up for new projects in a timely manner, as well as looking for improvements on existing trim cells. This role will be on site during production hours and available to make adjustments, and problem solve on the fly. This role also involves developing procedural documentation, as well as designing and building mechanical fixturing and tooling. All activities are performed in coordination with the operation of rotary Thermoforming equipment.

Responsibilities

• Document all changes to robot programs, fixtures and EOATs
• Program PLC's, robots, motion systems, and vision systems

Qualifications and Skills

• Associates or Bachelor of Science in related field, or equivalent years of work experience
• Able to work independently on projects and as a member of a team

• Must be self-motivated
• Must be willing to learn new things
• Ability to think outside the box
• Ability to read and understand Electrical and Pneumatic prints
• Exposure to ABB industrial robots, Rockwell/AB controls, HMI's sensors, and vision systems
• Troubleshooting experience with PLC programs
• Proficient with Robotic Path Teaching
• Extensive experience with Robot Studio and SolidWorks greatly preferred
• Works well with a variety of different people from diverse backgrounds
• Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written
• Motivated and passionate about working with people and overcoming challenges
• Starting Pay: $60,000 - 80,000.00 (based on experience)
