Job summary

Peninsula Plastics Company Inc in Pontiac, MI is hiring an Automaton Technician to support ABB robotic trim cells for new projects and to improve existing lines. This on-site role runs during production hours and requires developing procedural documentation and designing fixtures and tooling in coordination with rotary Thermoforming equipment.

You will write and modify robot programs, design fixturing and EOAT, simulate systems, troubleshoot PLCs and vision gear, and document all changes.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work independently and on a cross-functional team.
• Strong motivation and people skills.
• Experience with ABB industrial robots and Rockwell/AB controls.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Write and modify robot programs.
• Design and build robot cell fixturing.
• Design and build EOAT.
• Simulate robot systems.
• Develop technical documentation.
• Make changes to improve cycle time.
• Document changes to programs, fixtures and EOATs.
• Program PLCs, robots, motion and vision systems.
• Set up PLC communication with peripheral equipment.
• Robot I/O configuration.
• Other duties as assigned.
