Job summary

Matrix Design is seeking an automation professional to install, configure, and test robotic cells on customer sites. You will diagnose PLC/robot/HMI issues, program robots, calibrate vision systems, and document processes to ensure safe, reliable operation.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years’ hands-on robotics experience, familiarity with FANUC/ABB/Yaskawa, Cognex/Keyence vision systems, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement. Travel up to 40% is required.

Qualifications

2+ years hands-on with robotic systems in manufacturing or automation.
Proven experience in robotic integration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
Familiarity with risk assessments, safety protocols, and relevant standards.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer locations.

Responsibilities

Commissioning & Startups: Install, configure, and test automated equipment per engineering specs.
Support on-site commissioning at client facilities, ensuring safe, stable operation.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Execute preventative maintenance and repairs on robots and control systems.
Programming & Continuous Improvement: Assist with robot programming, path optimization, and calibration; program vision platforms (FANUC, Cognex, Keyence).
Documentation, Safety & Teaming: Log all work, update schematics, and record troubleshooting steps; collaborate with engineers and project managers to meet objectives.
