Job summary

Matrix Design is seeking an automation professional to install, configure, and test robotic cells on customer sites. You will diagnose PLC/robot/HMI issues, program robots, calibrate vision systems, and document processes to ensure safe, reliable operation.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years’ hands-on robotics experience, familiarity with FANUC/ABB/Yaskawa, Cognex/Keyence vision systems, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement. Travel up to 40% is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on with robotic systems in manufacturing or automation.
• Proven experience in robotic integration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Familiarity with risk assessments, safety protocols, and relevant standards.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer locations.

Responsibilities

• Commissioning & Startups: Install, configure, and test automated equipment per engineering specs.
• Support on-site commissioning at client facilities, ensuring safe, stable operation.
• Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Execute preventative maintenance and repairs on robots and control systems.
• Programming & Continuous Improvement: Assist with robot programming, path optimization, and calibration; program vision platforms (FANUC, Cognex, Keyence).
• Documentation, Safety & Teaming: Log all work, update schematics, and record troubleshooting steps; collaborate with engineers and project managers to meet objectives.
