Job summary

Intellectt INC seeks an Automation Technician in Buffalo Grove, IL to support automated assembly systems in an automotive manufacturing environment. The role focuses on troubleshooting, maintaining, programming, and optimizing automation equipment including robots, conveyors, PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and vision systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or technical certification preferred.
• 2-5 years of automation, robotics, controls or related field.
• Hands-on experience with PLCs, HMIs, industrial robots, conveyors, sensors, vision systems and pneumatics.
• Strong electrical, mechanical and pneumatic troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with robot programming and troubleshooting.
• Ability to work day or night shift, including 6:00 PM–6:00 AM.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, PLC, and HMI issues.
• Diagnose and resolve problems with robots, conveyors, sensors, vision systems, and pneumatics.
• Program and troubleshoot industrial robots such as Fanuc, Sepro, Yushin or Wittmann.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automation equipment.
• Modify PLC/HMI programs and troubleshoot I/O and communications.
• Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Support equipment installation, commissioning, and production line changes.
• Maintain automation documentation and equipment records.
• Support Lean, Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives.
