Job summary
Howmet Aerospace is seeking an Automation Engineer to join the Casting Facility in Dover, New Jersey. The role focuses on design, simulation, development and implementation of robotic and automated systems, using Yaskawa robots and MotoSim, with emphasis on EOAT, fixtures, and cycle-time optimization.
You will lead projects from concept to production, collaborate across engineering and maintenance, develop maintenance plans, and evaluate new robotics technologies. Relocation support available.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related discipline.
- Strong 3D CAD and mechanical design experience, taking designs from concept through fabrication and production.
- Experience with robotic assembly, automated part handling, fixturing, and process equipment.
Responsibilities
- Design and simulate robotic systems using CAD, GD&T, and MotoSim to validate tooling, robot motion, assembly sequences, and cycle time.
- Lead automation projects from concept through fabrication, installation, commissioning, and production.
- Identify opportunities to automate and optimize manual processes and support robotic systems through programming and troubleshooting.
