Job summary

Howmet Aerospace is seeking an Automation Engineer to join the Dover Casting Facility in Dover, New Jersey. The role focuses on designing and implementing robotic assembly tooling, end-of-arm tooling, and fixtures for investment casting operations.

You will simulate tooling and robot motion before fabrication, ensuring efficient cycle times and reliable production. The engineer will lead projects from concept to production, mentor technicians, and collaborate with multiple teams while leveraging

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, mechatronics, or related field.
3D CAD and GD&T proficiency with ability to take designs through fabrication.
Experience with robotic assembly, automated part handling, fixturing, and process equipment.
Strong troubleshooting and ability to assist during commissioning.

Responsibilities

Design and simulate robotic systems using CAD, GD&T, and MotoSim to validate tooling and cycle times.
Lead automation projects from concept through fabrication, installation, commissioning, and production.
Identify opportunities to automate and optimize manual processes.
Develop preventive maintenance requirements and training materials for automated equipment.
Support capital project development and ROI analysis.
Provide technical leadership to automation teams.
