Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking an Automation Engineer to own and optimize robotic automation systems on advanced manufacturing lines in Auburn, AL. You will troubleshoot FANUC robots, support new system launches, and work cross-functionally to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost.

Candidates should have a mechanical/industrial engineering background, hands-on troubleshooting experience, and strong communication skills to collaborate with operators, maintenance and suppliers in a fast-paced

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field, or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of four years of experience in a technical skill set.

Responsibilities

  • Own and modify robotic automation systems; adjust robot programs, paths and parameters.
  • Provide hands-on production support and troubleshoot robot, controls, tooling and process issues.
  • Lead structured problem solving to implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Support installation, commissioning, integration and launch of new robotic systems.
  • Improve quality, repeatability, cycle time and capability to meet takt-time expectations.
  • Collaborate with operators, technicians, and suppliers to resolve interruptions and improve performance.
  • Support fixtures, tooling, end-of-arm tooling, standard work and technical documentation.
  • Occasionally provide off-shift support with a safety-first mindset.
