Job summary

GE Aerospace in Auburn, AL, seeks an Automation Engineer to own and optimize robotic systems on advanced manufacturing lines. You will modify FANUC programs and collaborate across maintenance, quality, and production to drive safe, capable processes.

The role emphasizes root-cause analysis, structured problem solving, and hands-on troubleshooting of robotics, controls, and vision systems in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 4+ years in a technical skill set.
  • Experience with robotics/automation in manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of CAD, Python and PLCs is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Build in-depth knowledge and ownership of robotic automation systems; modify robot programs, paths, and parameters.
  • Provide hands-on production support and troubleshoot robot, controls, tooling, equipment, and process issues.
  • Lead structured problem solving to implement permanent corrective actions and preventive controls.
  • Support installation, commissioning, and launch of new robotic systems and related manufacturing tech.
  • Improve process quality, repeatability, cycle time, and capability to meet takt-time and quality goals.
  • Collaborate with operators, technicians, and partners to resolve interruptions and improve system performance.
  • Support fixtures, tooling, end-of-arm tooling, standard work, procedures, and training docs.
  • Provide occasional off-shift support with a safety-first mindset.
