Job summary

1X in Hayward, CA is seeking an Assembly Technician to translate engineering intent into precise mechanical subassemblies for NEO home robots. You will build parts to exact tolerances, ensuring safe operation alongside real people. The role emphasizes craftsmanship, teamwork, and a strong safety mindset.

Two shifts are available (Day or Swing). Candidates should have 2+ years in mechanical assembly, read drawings, and handle calipers, torque wrenches, and other basic measuring tools.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in mechanical assembly or manufacturing.
• Able to read and follow assembly drawings and docs.
• Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and basic measuring instruments.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform sustained physical work.
• Professional-level English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Assemble precision mechanical subassemblies meeting tolerances.
• Translate engineering intent into a physical robot.
• Meet daily and weekly production targets with quality and safety.
• Keep work area clean, organized, and safe (ESD compliant).
• Identify issues and escalate to improve the line.
