Job summary

1X is hiring an Assembly Technician in Hayward, CA to translate engineering intent into precise mechanical subassemblies that meet exacting tolerances. You will read drawings, use hand/power tools, and perform quality checks to ensure safe, reliable robot assemblies for home-use products.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in mechanical assembly, proficiency with inspection tools, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

2+ years of experience in mechanical assembly or manufacturing.
Ability to read and follow assembly drawings, work instructions, and engineering documentation.
Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and basic measuring instruments (calipers, torque wrenches, gauges).
Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform sustained hands-on, physical work throughout a shift.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
Professional-level English proficiency (written and verbal).

Responsibilities

Consistently meet daily and weekly production output targets without compromising on quality or safety standards
Deliver subassemblies that pass first-time inspection, minimizing rework and downstream defects
Maintain dimensional accuracy and proper torque specifications across every assembly you complete
Identify and escalation process issues, tooling problems, or recurring defects so the line gets better over time
Contribute to a clean, organized, and safe work area that meets ESD and manufacturing standards every shift
