Job summary

Allied Steel Buildings is seeking a Welder to produce high-quality welds on structural steel components used in PEMB and related projects. The role involves fast-paced manufacturing with robotic and automated systems, requiring collaboration with fitters, operators and engineers to meet AWS standards and project specs.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience in structural steel welding, strong blueprint reading skills, and the ability to work safely in a production environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of welding experience in structural steel fabrication or heavy manufacturing.
• Experience with commercial/industrial infrastructure projects is a plus.
• Ability to read fabrication drawings and weld maps.
• Willingness to pass Allied welding qualification tests.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG (GMAW) welding on structural steel assemblies and frames.
• Perform FCAW, SMAW, or other welding processes as required.
• Weld per AWS standards and project drawings with quality focus.
• Interpret blueprints and weld symbols to ensure correct placement.
• Verify fit-up, alignment, and weld size prior to welding.
• Assist with fabrication including grinding, gouging and prep work.
• Operate safely around robotic welding cells and automation.
• Visually inspect finished welds for quality and penetration.
• Identify defects and communicate corrective actions.
• Maintain productivity while meeting schedules and standards.
