Steel Craft in Hartford, WI is seeking a Robotic Welder 3 - Programmer to program, set up, and operate robotic welding systems on carbon steel and aluminum. The role focuses on delivering precise welds and adhering to safety and quality standards.

You will read blueprints, edit weld programs, adjust machine settings, and inspect welds using precision tools. Weekend shift, on-site, with ERP reporting and collaboration with fabricators and QC.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Knowledge and experience of GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) and robotic welding.
  • Minimum 2 years in production robotic welding; 1 year of robotic weld programming.
  • Proficiency in math, measurements, and geometry related to welding.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols.
  • Must obtain necessary weld certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate robotic welding equipment to perform welding on carbon steel, aluminum, and other metals.
  • Perform stud welding and/or metal finishing as needed.
  • Writes and edits simple/medium complexity weld programs for new and existing parts
  • Sets-up fixtures and/or mechanical feeds and safety devices as needed
  • Troubleshoot processes and equipment with approved technical support
  • Identifies process improvements and improves department efficiency.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings to determine welding requirements.
  • Adjust machine settings and welding parameters to optimize performance and quality.
  • Monitor welding operations to detect malfunctions, ensure precision, and make necessary adjustments.
  • Identify and repair weld defects as needed.
  • Perform quality inspections on welds using precision measuring tools to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on robotic welding equipment and report any issues or needed repairs.
  • Work collaboratively with fabricators, machine operators, and quality control personnel to ensure customer specifications are met.
  • Follow company policies, safety protocols, and quality assurance guidelines to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Accurately log job information into ERP computer system.
  • Accurately fill out required operations and quality paperwork.
  • Train and coach employees on fundamental robotic weld operations.
