Job summary

Steele Solutions in South Milwaukee, WI is looking for a Robotic Welding Operator for 1st shift. The role programs, sets up and operates the robotic welding cell to produce steel components.

You will review plans, ensure AWS D1.1 quality welds, and perform routine maintenance on the equipment. A high school diploma and prior machine operation experience are required. Collaboration with engineering to improve processes is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• Prior machine operating experience is preferred.
• CNC operator experience highly recommended.
• Ability to read and interpret manufacturing documents, blueprints and welding symbols.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and 6S principles is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Program and operate the robotic welding machine to weld steel parts/structures.
• Review blueprints, materials and production plans and translate into machine setup.
• Ensure quality welds in accordance with AWS D1.1 weld code.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance and other repairs on the machine.
• Communicate issues to management to ensure project coverage and smooth shifts.
• Collaborate with engineering to develop and improve processes.
