Job summary

Keel Midwest is seeking a Robotic Operator / Welder to join our fabrication team in Michigan. You will use established programs to weld fabrications under robotics supervision, coordinate with teammates and management on job status, and follow safety protocols for industrial and collaborative robots.

On-the-job training will be provided. Position offers day or night shifts with differential for night hours; great benefits and opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of welding experience and robotics experience required.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Good communication skills, attention to detail, and safety awareness in a shop environment.
• Must be comfortable with shop equipment such as overhead cranes, lifting devices, and impact wrenches.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload fabrications in various cells and fixtures.
• Jog robot when necessary for tip or wire change.
• Select and run correct programs from teach pendant, clear simple faults and restart cycles as directed.
• Pre-weld, repair, and clean up weldments; use hand-welding techniques as needed.
• Recognize and communicate quality/weld issues to programmers when needed.
• Understand and utilize WPS documents.
• Check correct filler metal and shield gas.
• Maintain robotic equipment and area cleanliness; monitor coolant etc.
• Use overhead cranes to move fixtures, materials, and robots.
• All other related duties as assigned.
