Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Currently Licensed as a Physician Assistant in the State of New York.
• Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association.
• DEA Certificate required.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Practices within the scope of delineated privileges.
• Provide direct care to individuals and families consistent with the philosophy of NYU Langone Health-Brooklyn and the departmental/institutional goals.
• Provide diagnostic and assessment services to patients utilizing a problem solving approach: Obtain a detailed history and perform physical examinations; write appropriate orders and implement a therapeutic regime.
• Documentation of all patient encounters including: patient assessment and progress notes, treatment rendered, patient teaching, follow-up referral.
• Maintain required unit records, reports, and statistics for administrative purposes and reimbursement, including discharge summaries.
• Evaluation and management of critical care patients; participate in rounds with attending staff and housestaff.
