Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Position Summary

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Physician Assistant - Robotic Surgery in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.

Job Responsibilities
  • Practice within the scope of delineated privileges.
  • Provide direct care to patients and families in accordance with NYU Langone Health-Brooklyn goals, ensuring patient safety, well‑being, and confidentiality.
  • Perform diagnostic and assessment services, including detailed history and physical examinations, and consider age, growth, and developmental stage when rendering care.
  • Order narcotics, stimulants, and depressant drugs in consultation with a physician.
  • Implement therapeutic regimes or protocols following institutional protocols and attending physician consultation, monitoring patient response and notifying the physician of any changes.
  • Consult specialists or medical preceptors for complex patient care situations.
  • Document all patient encounters, including assessments, treatment rendered, patient teaching, and follow‑up referrals.
  • Maintain required unit records, reports, and statistics for administrative purposes and reimbursement, including discharge summaries.
  • Evaluate and manage critical care patients.
  • Perform emergency life‑saving procedures in the absence of a physician.
  • Participate in rounds with attending staff and housestaff on assigned patients.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and families during admissions, care transitions, and discharge.
  • Provide preventive health services, including counseling and teaching in health maintenance and problem‑related areas.
  • Engage in quality improvement activities as needed.
  • Participate in committees as appropriate.
  • Attend all scheduled departmental meetings and conferences.
  • Be available on call during non‑working hours to assist attendings with urgent or emergent situations or procedures.
  • Direct, instruct, and evaluate activities of P.A.s and medical students as appropriate.
  • Engage in activities fostering professional growth and maintenance of certification.
Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors or master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Licensed as a Physician Assistant in the State of New York.
• Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association.
• DEA Certificate.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience.

Required Licenses

Physician Assistant Lic‑NYS, National Certified Physician Assistant, Basic Life Support Certificate

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced Life Support certification (ACLS, PALS) through the American Heart Association or Neonatal Resuscitation certification (NRP) through the American Academy of Pediatrics, as required by selected privileges.
• 1 year of applicable job experience preferred.

Salary Range

Salary range for this role is $155,049.60 – $202,579 annually. Actual salaries may vary based on experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
