Job summary

Applied Intuition seeks a Robotic Software Engineer to design and integrate advanced autonomy systems for defense and commercial customers. You will deploy autonomy algorithms across SIL, HIL, and live tests, interfacing hardware and software on vehicle platforms and sensors.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, tackle complex integration challenges, and travel 10–20% for on-site demonstrations. U.S. citizenship and clearance eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Robotics, CS or related engineering field.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with robotic systems (hardware, software, integration).
• Experience with C++ programming.
• Experience integrating autonomy/robotics with Pixhawk autopilots (ArduPilot/PX4).
• Experience with UART/RS232/RS422/RS485, SPI/QSPI, I2C, Ethernet.
• Experience developing in Docker and containerized deployments; Linux-based systems.
• Experience using git, VS Code, GitLab.
• Familiarity with SIL/HIL and software-in-the-loop testing.

Responsibilities

• Design and integrate autonomy and vehicle intelligence systems across hardware and software domains.
• Deploy autonomy algorithms in SIL, HIL, and live test environments.
• Troubleshoot integration and software issues for reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with autonomy engineers to integrate software with hardware and aircraft subsystems.
• Support live flight tests of autonomy software on UAVs.
• Coordinate with DoD warfighter experts and 3rd party vendors for integration.
• Develop service-oriented architecture and inter-process messaging for autonomous UAS.
• Conduct system-level setup, testing, and validation including SIL/HIL.
