Job summary

Lab37 Robotics is seeking an Assistant Kitchen Manager to lead shifts in an automated kitchen, ensuring prep, quality, and safety standards for proteins, vegetables, and sauces. You will bridge software-guided operations with hands-on leadership, coaching staff and maintaining inventory in a fast-paced environment.

The role involves overseeing robot-enabled processes, strict sanitation, and ongoing training, with compensation starting at $28.00 per hour for full-time onsite work in Lawndale, CA.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen experience with a focus on team leadership or shift management.
• Meticulous attention to detail for portioning and weighing ingredients and tracking food waste.
• Ability to follow and enforce precise, software-guided SOPs in a tech-forward kitchen.
• Proven ability to coach teams and maintain high food safety standards.
• Comfort working in an automated kitchen environment; robotics training provided.

Responsibilities

• Own the shift end-to-end, executing standardized recipes for proteins, vegetables, and sauces per software-guided SOPs.
• Conduct per-shift quality checkpoints, log results, and correct drift in food quality.
• Manage sanitation through strict nightly cleaning protocols and robot component washing.
• Drive team culture through hands-on coaching and training; coach staff on technical drift.
• Operate kitchen tech (induction stoves, combi ovens, blenders, blast chillers) and manage robot interactions.
• Conduct end-of-week inventory counts to identify reorders and maintain flow.
