Job summary

Bellwether Coffee in Berkeley, CA is seeking a Roasting & Production Associate to join our coffee operations team. The role roasts daily to meet production demands for retail, wholesale, and samples, while also bagging, shipping, and maintaining roast logs and equipment.

You will collaborate with the Coffee Team and cross-functional groups to drive process improvements, ensure timely orders, and uphold quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills, inclusive of written and verbal communication.
• 1-2 years experience in either production, manufacturing, shipping and/or warehouse fulfillment.
• Previous experience as a barista or in a roasting & production environment is a plus.
• Experience with shipping software a plus.
• Self-starter who operates with a high level of autonomy, organization, and follow through.
• Highly adaptable, quick to respond.
• Ability to multitask, adjust the plan, and thrive in a fast-paced workflow.
• Proven ability to collaborate in team environment.
• Solution oriented problem solver.

Responsibilities

• Roasting coffee on a Bellwether roaster
• Weighing, measuring, filling, bagging, and preparing customer orders
• Utilizing UPS system, printing labels, shipping product, tracking orders and resolving any shipping issues
• Organizing green coffee and production areas continuously
• Performing physical counts to support inventory management
• Operating and maintaining Bellwether roasting equipment; alerting and coordinating with cross functional teams when technical issues need to be resolved
