Description

We are currently seeking a Roving Utility Arborist/Forester to support hazard tree assessments and other vegetation management projects across the United States.

As a Roving Utility Arborist/Utility Forester, your office is the outdoors! You will keep communities informed about trees and power lines while ensuring safe power delivery.

Job Details

• Type: Full Time, Seasonal
• Location: Roving work nationwide
• Travel: Required; meals and lodging reimbursement apply
• Schedule: Up to 60 hours/week, including OT

Compensation

Pay ranges from $20.00 to $25.00 per hour, based on education, experience, and certifications. Compensation may vary if classified under different tiers.

Responsibilities

• Inspect power line rights-of-way and assess vegetation conditions

• Document property ownership and assessments
• Operate GIS software and mobile devices
• Ensure safety and maintain public relations
• Drive safely and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Ability to work outdoors in various weather and terrains
• Basic computer skills

Preferred Qualifications

• ISA Arborist certification
• ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ)
• Degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, or related field
• Previous experience in forestry or arboriculture

Working Environment

Work involves outdoor field activities, including walking, hiking, and operating equipment in various weather conditions and terrains. Safety precautions are essential.

Physical Requirements

Must be physically capable of walking up to 10 miles daily, lifting up to 60 lbs, and operating field equipment. Good hearing and vision are required.
