Michigan Paving and Materials is seeking a Construction Operations Intern – Roadways in the United States. The internship offers hands-on experience across project management, asphalt plant operations, and field crews, with exposure to safety, quality control, and engineering support.

Interns will rotate through experiences including bidding, contracts, plant operations, crew supervision, and business management tasks, gaining insights into costs, scheduling, and logistics in heavy construction.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s in construction management, engineering, or business management.
• Interest in heavy construction such as site-work, roads or environmental.

Responsibilities

• Project management: learn about sourcing, bidding and the build process for construction projects.
• Asphalt plant operations: work with Plant Operators and assist with maintenance.
• Construction crews: learn to prepare for the job and set up the work.
• Business management: assist with monthly reporting, job cost, workload and scheduling.
• Aggregate manufacturing: observe operations at quarry/pit locations and logistics.
