Job summary

Sunbelt Asphalt Surfaces seeks motivated students for its Project Engineer Internship Program. This paid internship offers hands-on experience in asphalt paving and heavy highway construction, exposing interns to field operations, project management, estimating, quality control, and plant operations.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Strong interest in asphalt paving and heavy civil projects.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist project teams with daily construction operations and project coordination.
• Support field engineers, project managers, and superintendents on active asphalt and construction projects.
• Monitor production quantities, track project progress, and assist with documentation.
• Participate in project planning, scheduling, and estimating activities.
• Learn and apply quality control and safety standards.
• Observe and support asphalt plant and paving operations.
• Complete assigned projects, reports, and presentations throughout the internship.
