Qualifications

  • Driver's license.
  • Experience applying MUTCD standards to design/construction projects while following local, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Experience reading maps, plans, specifications, field reviews to determine information such as location, scale, dimensions.
  • Experience using spreadsheets, databases, and processing computer software (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to maintain documentation and create reports.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects the condition of roadways and traffic control devices to ensure safe operation and compliance with MUTCD regulations.
  • Communicates with coworkers, supervisors, external agencies or departments, private contractors, and the public to identify and solve problems related to roadways and traffic control devices.
  • Creates and maintains records, databases, and files for accurate, accessible documentation.
  • Provides support to Traffic Analysts and Engineers during traffic studies by assisting with data collection according to established procedures.
