Job summary

Kokosing is seeking a Roadway Superintendent for work in the Norfolk, VA area. You will supervise skilled trade crews on heavy highway projects, focus on safety, production, and profitability, and coordinate with Project Engineer and Project Manager.

Responsibilities include planning, directing work, and driving 90-day and 3-week schedules, while overseeing costs and coordinating manpower, equipment, and subcontractors. Strong roadway experience and 10+ years field management preferred.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of field management experience in heavy/highway construction.
• Roadway/highway experience strongly preferred.
• Technical progression through ranks from Journeyman to Superintendent.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage 3+ foremen on safe, productive earthwork and highway activities.
• Establish a Safety 24/7 culture for crews.
• Assist the Project Manager in creating the project schedule.
• Develop 90-day and 3-week crew schedules.
• Conduct pre-planning and goal setting with crews.
• Oversee costs for work items and manage budgets.
• Coordinate manpower, heavy equipment, tooling and material needs.
• Schedule subcontractors and oversee subcontractor work.
