Job summary

Horrocks in Boise, Idaho is seeking a Roadway/Site Engineer to lead civil design projects from concept through bidding. You will develop roadway, drainage, and utility plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D, oversee budgets, prepare proposals, and coordinate with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality deliverables.

Ideal candidates bring 7–10 years of civil design experience, PE licensure, strong communication skills, and a proven ability to manage projects and produce technical memos

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in civil engineering
• 3 years of PE licensure experience
• 7–10 years of progressive civil design experience (drainage, utilities, roadway)
• Self-directed with strong project management and delivery skills
• Ability to bid projects and develop execution plans and deliverables
• Excellent client and team communication skills
• Technical writing, cost estimating, and program execution skills

Responsibilities

• Develop project work plans and scopes
• Provide project oversight and schedule monitoring
• Prepare fee proposals and budgets/invoicing
• Prepare roadway, grading, drainage, water, and sewer plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Produce technical deliverables: memos, design plans, specs, reports
• Quality assurance for project deliverables
• Prepare calculations, construction specs, and permitting
• Prepare opinions of probable cost for various stages
• Manage and design development/redevelopment projects
• Coordinate with other Horrocks leaders on multi-disciplinary pursuits
• Maintain communications with clients and project teams
• Conduct regular meetings balancing needs and staff availability
• Construction observation and coordination with contractors
• Resource planning for productive staffing
