Job summary

Blythe Construction is seeking a Quality Control Technician-Roadway to conduct tests on state approved asphalt mixes for highways. The role involves density tests, rolling pattern monitoring, yield measurement, and charting results on site.

You’ll perform a variety of duties, including field measurements, data reporting, and maintaining safety standards. The position requires 3–5 years of industry experience and a valid driver’s license, with variable shifts and weekend hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; trade school or college optional.
• 1–2 years of college or trade school can substitute for part of experience.
• 3–5 years of field/plant experience in asphalt testing and quality control.
• Must have a valid driver's license and ability to work variable shifts including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Test asphalt roadway density, monitor rolling patterns, measure yield, and take cores.
• Perform field measurements and maintain accurate reporting of results.
• Demonstrate thorough math and reporting skills to ensure data integrity.
• Maintain safety and quality standards on busy road construction sites.
