Job summary

CRH is seeking a Quality Control Technician to provide inspection and field testing on asphalt road projects. Responsibilities include profilographing, density readings, core sampling, and establishing roller patterns to meet specifications.

The ideal candidate will pass pre‑employment screenings, be willing to travel to job sites, and work nights/weekends when required. A minimum high school diploma or GED is required, with prior construction experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
• Willingness to travel to job sites and work nights/weekends as needed.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and QA plans.

Responsibilities

• Abide by all safety requirements.
• Develop relationships with DOT and engineering firm personnel.
• Establish rolling patterns to meet density specs.
• Take gauge readings and record results.
• Use profilograph to collect data for road smoothness specs.
• Collect density core samples with a core drilling machine.
• Evaluate test data and adjust processes to stay within specs.
• Maintain test results and equipment documentation.
• Travel to multiple asphalt plants and sites as needed.
