Job summary

Conrad Consulting is seeking a Civil Project Manager – Roadway in Connecticut to lead planning, design, and delivery of roadway projects for public and private clients. You will supervise multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with CTDOT and municipalities to ensure successful project outcomes.

The ideal candidate holds a Civil Engineering degree, a PE license (CT preferred), and 8–15 years of roadway experience, with strong leadership and client-management skills for project success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required; Connecticut PE preferred.
• 8–15 years of experience in roadway, highway, or transportation engineering.
• Proven experience managing transportation infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of CTDOT design standards, policies, and project delivery processes.
• Experience with MicroStation/OpenRoads Designer (ORD) and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills.
• Experience managing client relationships and multidisciplinary project teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage roadway and highway design projects from planning through construction support.
• Oversee project scope, budgets, schedules, and resource allocation to ensure successful delivery.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, subconsultants, and stakeholders.
• Develop roadway geometry, drainage, utility coordination, traffic control, and construction documentation.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, including CTDOT and municipal agencies.
• Ensure projects comply with CTDOT, AASHTO, and applicable federal and state standards.
• Perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers and support their technical and professional development.
• Assist with proposals, client presentations, and business development initiatives.
