ROTHA Contracting Company, Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead roadway and bridge projects for Connecticut state agencies from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy civil construction management with excellent organizational and leadership skills.

The role emphasizes on-time delivery, budget control, quality standards, and collaboration with engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors to ensure project success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience managing CTDOT or municipal heavy highway projects.
  • Strong knowledge of road and bridge construction processes, procedures, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Familiarity with construction management software.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, direct, and supervise the project team to ensure project completion with focus on budget and priorities.
  • Act as primary liaison with stakeholders, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors.
  • Develop and implement project work schedules and look-ahead schedules; manage critical path.
  • Coordinate procurement, RFQs, subcontracts, and purchase orders; manage budgets and costs.
  • Prepare quantity computations and pricing documentation; manage submittals and change orders.
  • Attend progress meetings and provide regular client updates.

ROTHA Contracting Company, Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead and oversee roadway and bridge construction projects for Connecticut State agencies from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy civil construction management with excellent organizational and leadership skills. As a Construction Project Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget and meet quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, direct, and supervise the project team to successfully execute project completion with critical focus on financial and operational priorities
  • Act as primary liaison with project stakeholders, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors
  • Work collaboratively with field foremen and subcontractors to meet stakeholder expectations and maintain positive labor relationships
  • Conduct regular site visits to ensure work is being performed according to plans and specifications
Project Planning & Execution
  • Manage job startup activities and establish project protocols
  • Develop and implement overall project work schedules including look-ahead schedules and identifying the critical path to successful completion
  • Process and manage submittal packages in coordination with agencies and engineers
  • Coordinate RFIs (Requests for Information) and RFCs (Requests for Change)
  • Develop and manage project budgets, tracking all expenses and cost controls
  • Track ‘cost-plus’ work, negotiate and price extra work with agencies
  • Manage procurement process including RFQs, subcontracts, and purchase orders
  • Process accounts payable, subcontractor requisitions, and code invoices
  • Handle receivables and state agency requisitions
  • Prepare quantity computations and pricing documentation
Quality & Compliance
  • Manage and oversee the Quality Assurance/Quality Control program for all project activities
  • Review, edit, and approve field timesheets
  • Ensure strict adherence to all relevant regulations, safety standards, and ethics/compliance requirements
  • Prepare letters and project correspondence as required
Communication & Reporting
  • Attend and lead progress meetings with project stakeholders
  • Communicate regularly with clients to provide project updates and address concerns
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years’ experience managing CTDOT or municipal heavy highway projects
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, procedures, and best practices specific to roadway and bridge construction
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and strong leadership abilities
  • Familiarity with construction management software
